The firm’s experience in area of privatization may be called unique. Lawyers of the firm advised major foreign investors as well as governmental bodies in privatization of important objects in the area of oil and gas, gold, metals, uranium production, manufacturing of mass consumer goods.
The most significant experience of the firm in this area includes:
- representation of the interests of Hurricane Hydrocarbon Ltd (PetroKazakhstan Inc.) in connection with its successful participation in the privatization tender on the purchase of the controlling block of shares of one of the largest Kazakhstan’s oil company Yuzhneftegas JSC;
- advising the American investment company Access Industries in connection with privatization of a large Kazakhstan’s mining enterprise EkibastuzKomir JSC;
- advising Gas de France in regard to its participation in the tender for obtaining the concession for a part of gas pipeline in Kazakhstan;
- representation of the interests of the Kazakhstan corporation Zhetysu in connection with its successful participation in the privatization tender for the purchase of shares of a regional Kazakhstan gas company AlauTransGas OJSC;
- advising a major French company in connection with its supposed participation in the privatization tender for the purchase of shares of Stepnogorsky Chemical Combine;
- the analysis of history of privatization in the performance of due diligence of different enterprises, including the analysis of issues of legality of Kazakmys’s privatization in connection with listing of its parent company. | |
