A prominent Kazakhstan scholar, Dr. Kulyash M. Ilyasova, has joined AEQUITAS as a Senior Advisor.
Ms. Ilyasova is a leading local expert in civil, corporate, subsoil, investment and environmental law.
She is vastly experienced in advising on most complex issues in the area of subsoil use, legal regulation of immovable property, land law, concession and contract execution.
Ms. Ilyasova is the author of more than 130 scholarly works on different civil law matters. She partook, at different times, in the development of the following laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan: Law on Bankruptcy, Law on Individual Entrepreneurship, Law on Land, Law on State Registration of Rights to Immovable Property, Law on Concession, and Law on the Sovereign Wealth Fund and is experienced in the due diligence of contracts entered into between the Republic of Kazakhstan and foreign investors, including subsoil use and electric power industry related contracts.
She is an arbitrator for international arbitration and domestic arbitration tribunals (KIA, IUS) and is on the list of recommended mediators of the International Dispute Settlement Center under the CIS Economic Court.
Ms. Ilyasova has a wealth of experience of teaching legal disciplines at Kazakh higher education institutions (senior lecturer, associate professor, professor of the chair). Currently, she is a professor of the private law disciplines chair of the Caspian Public University (CPU), Chief Research Associate of the CPU Private Law Research Institute, and Scientific Advisor for the Legal Research and Analysis Center LLP.
